Night Soccer

Friday night we had night soccer in Clark Park. In case you are wondering, night soccer is like regular soccer, except played with flashlights at night. There's a big open area of the park where we set up our "field." Anna brought colored cups and lots of flashlights, and we set up goalposts by placing a cup over a lit flashlight and putting that in the ground. So they looked like giant glowing upside down gumdrops, without sugar. Sara and I are not so good with the athletic (or at least the soccer) thing, so we were goalies. I'd like to comment that any job where you are SUPPOSED to throw yourself in front of a moving object is not ordinarily a job I would volunteer for. But it was better than trying to keep up with these people who obviously had significant soccer experience.

Anyway, there were nine of us in total: anna, dan, me, sara, jb, corey, erik, and two guys that corey knew (i think?). My team was dan, corey, and erik. They were surprisingly good. I was impressed. Corey and Erik had obviously played a lot of soccer before. We lost, but that means Anna won, and that's ok with me. Here are some pictures of very tired soccer players at the end of the game:

and here's Anna, who played so well that you
couldn't tell she was the only girl out there
