Since Steffany can't wait for an update, I'll fill y'all in on what's been going on.
So after the symposium I had lots of free time on my hands. Tuesday I had dinner with Claudia Schippert (I have to put both names because if I write "Dr. Schippert" then she'll be mad at me and if I write "Claudia" then nobody except Edith will know who I'm talking about). It was awesome and she encouraged me to drive around the country and maybe not go to law school. That makes it sound like bad advice, but she's trying to help me figure out what's best for me. She's coming to Philadelphia soon, so I'll get to see her again in a little while. Maybe I'll have a definite plan for the next few years by then.
Wednesday I bought a cute pink cowboy hat. Jason took me to Shepler's Western Wear to get it. I tried on a lot of stuff and thought about getting a jack daniels tank top, but instead I spent too much money on a pink hat. I'm a little nervous, because the only way to get it back home to Philadelphia is to wear it on the plane, and can you imagine a pink cowboy hat on public transportation in Philly? I also got to drive Jason's truck. V8 engines are awesome.
Thursday I went to Cowboys. I would have liked it more if they had served me alcohol, but apparently ID is not as important as a wristband (It's partly my fault, because I'm the crazy person who can't wear stuff on her right hand, but still... I'm 22! How can they not serve me because I won't wear a wristband on my right hand?!). So I watched Gina and some Kappas dance and text messaged with friends who were not very sympathetic about my situation. I forgive them, though, because they're my friends and they're allowed to laugh at my unpleasant circumstances. :)
Friday I watched movies and waited for my Dad to pick me up to go to Ocala. Then I got to see my brother! Doug was in Ocala for Friday and Saturday, so we were able to catch up some and watch a nicolas cage movie. Yay.
Saturday we went to see The Greatest Game Ever Played at the cinema. It was mediocre. And I love sports movies, so that's saying something. Then we came home and watched football on tv. Brady Quinn is still the cutest quarterback in the country, so all of you should be cheering for Notre Dame too.
Sunday we went to Gainesville for an art show. It was a small show with lots of jewelry. It didn't take long to look at everything. It was also outside in the rain, which did not endear it to me. Then last night we watched West Wing and Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. I was a little disappointed in all of them. I think I might expect too much from tv shows.
Today I talked to Steffany about our upcoming trip to the Poconos, and I watched Great Hotels (because my parents get the travel channel! yay for cable!). Tonight Robin (a friend of my mom's and the wonderful Kappa alum who wrote my letter of rec for KKG) is coming for dinner. I am making fall food: Apple Chicken, Cranberry Stuffing, Green Beans, and Pumpkin Pie. I'm not sure why I capitalized those foods, maybe that's to show how good they will be?
That is all of my news. You can all now feel updated on my life. Pictures will be available when I get back to Philly; I have no way to get them online here because I don't have a memory card reader.
Those of you in Ocala...I'm here for a week. Let me know when you want to get together!

1 pink picket thought(s):
Hey Kim: what I said was that it might be a good idea to go on a spiritual retreat for three to five months - but short of that (since you didn't seem excited by the prospect of sitting quietly on a cushion for 14 hours a day for 5 months) I did indeed think that taking a road trip could be a similarly useful meditative project :)
I do love the pictures of Philly - transports me right back to where I used to live.
Cheers,
Claudia
