I know you all have been waiting for this, sorry it's taken a couple of days. Transferring and editing and uploading all the pictures took a long time. But without further ado...
New York was great. I got to town about 1:00 Friday afternoon, and waited in a Starbucks outside the Port Authority until Steffany got off work at 2. Then we took the subway back to Brooklyn to drop off my stuff. In case you were wondering, the bus ride was uneventful. They showed the movie Spanglish (most of it, I didn't get to see the end).
After we dropped off my stuff and Eric got home, we decided to go to the Museum of Modern Art. On Friday nights Target sponsors an open house night, and from 4-8 people can get in free to the museum. We had to wait in a really long line to get in, but it was totally worth it. They had several paintings that I really like, including one of my favorites- Chagall's I and the Village:
They also had a bunch of Picasso paintings and a cute painting by Klee (who did Rose Garden- the print I had on my wall in Orlando) called Cat and Bird. For pictures of the paintings, click here. Most of you will recognize at least some of them, I'm sure...like Monet's Water Lilies and Van Gogh's Starry Night.
Saturday morning we went to breakfast at a mexican diner in Brooklyn. It was pretty good. Here's a picture of me and Steffany at breakfast:
After breakfast we went shopping on Fifth Avenue and then went to Chinatown and Little Italy. I got a new sweater at Zara and a long sleeved shirt at J Crew. We had a break at Starbucks, and then wandered through the Farmer's Market in Union Square on the way to the subway. I had apple cider. The subway ride to Little Italy didn't take long (way faster than walking). We had lunch in an italian place (for obvious reasons); the calzone was yummy. Then we walked up and down Canal Street and looked at all the knockoff products. Steffany found a pretty scarf, I got a fake Kate Spade bag:
Then we went on the Staten Island Ferry! We went at sunset, so it was really pretty. We got fairly close to the Statue of Liberty, so I tried to take a picture. The picture on the way over (at sunset) is a lot clearer than the one on the way back (in the dark) because the night setting on my camera doesn't have shake protection so it takes funny pictures:

That night we went to the Alligator Lounge, where you get an entire flatbread pizza free with every drink. It was fun. We tried to play Trivial Pursuit when we got back to the apartment, but it didn't go very well.
Sunday we slept in, and then used our afternoon to go to Central Park. I loved Central Park, I think it was my favorite part of the trip. They had a "Shakespeare Garden" and lots of big open fields. We were there a long time.
Monday we were going to go back to Central Park with a picnic and frisbee, but we slept in again, so we only made it to Union Square for a little while on the way back to the Port Authority to drop me off. There are lots of other things that happened, but I really can't write about all of it because it would take pages and pages. For ALL of the pictures from New York, go here.
other highlights: trying to learn to knit, water ice, wandering around New York at night (the lights are pretty), blackberries from the farmer's market, clean subway, and spending time with Steffany!!!
lowlights: my allergies were terrible! i had to get claritin to function. also, going back to Philadelphia kinda sucked.
I can't wait to go back. Steff, what are you doing this weekend? ;)
