gratitude

My best friend is posting things that make her thankful every day for twenty days. (I think. Give or take on the number of days.) I'm not nearly that diligent, but I like the idea. I think positive thinking helps. Here are some things I'm pretty thankful for:

- I'm thankful that there are amazingly kind people in my life. My roommate's boyfriend's parents sent me an Easter Basket. How sweet and thoughtful is that?! I mean, seriously?!

- I'm thankful that the weather has been perfect this week for the convertible. It's so therapeutic and soothing having the top down on sunny days. And, on a related note, I'm thankful for friends who love to ride in it with me.

- I'm thankful that I had an entire group of friends go to the basketball game with me on Friday night. That was so much fun.

- I'm thankful that I get to live with a roommate who has such fabulous taste in decor. It's so nice to come home to a beautiful apartment.

- I'm thankful that I have people who support me whether they see me every day or every few months or every few years. Support systems are so important.

- I'm thankful that I stopped accepting labels and restrictions I put on myself for too long. I'm thankful that even though I'm terrible at it, I'm cooking regularly. I'm thankful for friends who eat what I cook. I'm particularly thankful for my friend who is so cute that she writes me thank you notes for burning her dinner.

I'm not sure what I think about reincarnation, so I generally believe this is the only time I'll ever get to be 25. And I'm trying to love it. Quote of the week:

"Never save anything for a special occasion, being alive is the special occasion."

I am grateful for you. I know Bre is grateful for you, she thinks of you as the bif sis she wants desperately to have. So whether you realize it or not you are a profoundly good influence on children. Yes, she is above 10, but I think you have also seen she can sometimes act as though she were 4, even though she thinks she is 24.lol. Just wanted you to know we are grateful for you and the influence you represent.
love
yvonne

Posting happy thoughts for 20 days is getting a little hard. I don't know how Peter Pan came up with happy thoughts all the time to satisfy the flying rule.

I'm glad that you've found so many things about your life to be happy about. I know that I'm happy that you're in my life and even though we're thousands of miles apart, I can't see my life without you in it.
